Derived from the word "servant" knights were known as gentlemen's soldiers. Knights were the elite of the kings fighting forces in the middle ages. The order of knighthood from the monarchy is a prestigious honour that in some countries is still carried out today.

A knight's job is to protect the weak and those that can't defend themselves against enemies. Trained in deadly weapons and expert riding skills knights were definitely the rock stars of the Middle Ages.
